47 Custer is devoted to the idea that nature is nearby and waiting to be discovered on a daily basis. Here you'll find some of my photographs and writing related to the natural history of eastern Massachusetts. Most of the places where I observe nature are within a couple of miles or less of the Boston neighborhood where I live. Even in this heavily developed landscape nature persists and with a little bit of listening and looking there is a surprising amount of interesting wildlife to be observed and enjoyed.
